If mentioning Line Magnetic Audio we have to begin with its creator Mr Zheng Cai. Zheng Cai, born in Jilin province, love radio, smart and studious, he graduated from the Beijing Broadcasting Institute. After graduation, he worked at Dunhua radio plant and become Chief engineer after two years of work. Between 1984 and 1991 he served as chief engineer of Changchun radio factory which is a well-know company at that time. In the spare time Zheng keeps his hobby on electronics and he found that at that time in China there is no HIFI tube amplifiers yet. Therefore he planned to go to Guangdong together with his younger brother Zheng Xi where the HIFI industry has a very good background affected by HK. Zheng realized that in China as for HiFi vacuum tube amplifier production it is almost blank especially about the audio transformer which is the most important part for tube amplifiers. Realizing such an issue Zheng Brothers decided to do research and investigation specially on such subjects vacuum tube amplifiers and its audio transformers. From its start Zheng brothers have spent around 2 years succeeding in researching and developing the high end audio transformers. Good thing is they succeed but at the same time in order to do research they almost spent all their money. They are at a very difficult situation that how to move on. How to use the technology and have it produced. Just at the time Cayin, the first vacuum tube amplifier manufacturer in mainland China needs the technology for production of their own products. It is such an opportunity that Zheng was invited to join Cayin in 1993, when he was one of the shareholders of Cayin. He also works as General manager and chief engineer in Cayin at the very start up time.

In 1995, it was the time of Cayin got its reputation in China and worldwide.However with development of two years Zheng and the other shareholders have some disagreement that Zheng suggests to develop the very high-end of amplifiers. Finally Zheng left Cayin and begin his long time working in different companies. First Caier Factory established together wit his friend. At the very beginning the factory is located in Zhuhai and later to Zhongshan for a better sourcing network. In 2001 he worked in Panyu as a co-founder of large audio company. A year later, from 2002 to 2004 he works in a Guangzhou Factory which is working on OEM production only. Zheng is in charge of research and product development there including tube amplifier, CD players and solid state amplifiers. Working in different companies Zheng has got an experience on different areas. It gave him a possibility to know and understand HIEND products from the western company. In his spare time Zheng helps audiophiles repair the WE traditional products. It is at such time that Zheng has got more and more knowledge about the WE products and it is great pleaure for him and the audiophile to see the Old devices of WE got their lives again. It is restore the glory of the past.

It is this period time that make Zheng more and more experienced on development and designing of HIEND products. He has got chances to touch not only the modern products but also some vintage products like the horn system, drivers, vintage amplifier etc. He has learned a lot from this experience. Later on he always said it is a period for progress for himself even he does not work at a factory or a business for a long time. It has also give a solid foundation of the establishment of the Line Magnetic Audio Company in 2005.

Line Magnetic Audio Company is combined by Foshan Line magnetic audio studio and Zhuhai Line magnetic Audio Co., Ltd. Foshan Line Magnetic Studio is established by Zheng Cai the elder brother while the younger brother Zheng Xi has established the audio company located in Zhuhai City Nanping Science and Technology Industrial Park. In the reception area of Zhuhai Line Magnetic you will see a lot of well-known stuffs built by them including the LM-219IA integrated amplifier and 755 8 inches of full range of speakers. If entering into the listening room you will get amazed with the sound output of the big horn system driven by both the vintage and modern systems. Melodious music, charming voice and pleasing atmosphere embrace each other, all in front filled with a peaceful, orderly, confident feeling.

In Zhuhai Line Magnetic Audio Company it has a production line and an office area occupying 1,700 square meters. Everything is well organized. In such a huge production area Incoming inspection, warehouse, Assembly, testing, aging and printing and transformer making are there. Located on the same floor well organized for different work line. What is the most attractive is the Automatic Assembly line where the key work of hard wiring is done.

Zheng is always proud of this: "It is the automatic production line you can only see for production of tube amplifiers, because (a) the investment is too large, more than 200,000 yuan; (b) the scale of other plants cannot reach such a scale that use the automatic production line. " Zheng also said that this line is his own design specializing in the production of their own tube amplifier. It is a highly intelligent automatic control of vertical movements, horizontal vertical lines (production line) so that it can improve the efficiency and reduce the labor intensity of the workers.

Witnessing the orderly staff are working in front of the workplace, Zheng and Ning the vice General Manager are confident and satisfied. They said: "There are 78 employees, including 15 engineers. No 2 in China on the number of employees, but the largest output ranked first on production. 70% for export and 30% for domestic sales. As for export we have our own brand and OEM production from Japan, Europe and USA etc. A lot of different brands that even our workers work overtime it is still in short supply to our customers. In recent years we devoted to developing our own brands too esp for the export market. We hope to follow and share with the international audiophiles about our concept and understanding of the audio products.”

Located in Foshan Line Magnetic Studio leaded by Zhengcai are mainly engaged in research, development, improvement and customization of classic machines of Western Electric. Here we have about 700 square meters working space including office room, research & development department, designing room, 50 square meters audition room and production line of vacuum tube amplifier, transformer and speaker etc. Even though the size is smaller than Zhuhai’s, it has a complete operation system and lots of talent workers.

In such a flourishing but quiet place, Mr. Zheng Cai spared no efforts in making audio products and made a great contribution. The clerk came back and exclaimed: he is still the amiable person who carries out things deftly and resolutely. And we will understand why LM has numerous good products and do what other company cannot do through one example.

Dawei, the son of Mr.Zheng Cai, introduced a giant machine made by two parts in a casual way. It is a magnetizing apparatus with electron tubes that no similar ones seen by father in market can compare with. Especially, this big monster designed and produced by my father. Here is its working performance: highest working voltage: 3000V; maximum electric current: 3 A. But others are usually 500V-700V, 1A. “It is known by us that the intensity of horn magnets is directly related to their drive force. In others words, the reason why speakers of LM have such fabulous sound effects is the final result of efforts of father.” “Beside, my father did not take any consideration about economic returns when he decided to do something. He told me what I should do; I would try my best to finish it.” Dawei said. Dawei, a youth from electronic family, loves music too much. He learned to play guitar in 1996(16 years old). Two years later, he organized a jazz band. Gradually he became professional music lover from an amateur one. Until 2006 he leaved from their own band for working on audio products with father. Because of the talents to music and patient instruction in electricity from father, now Dawei has his own special understanding in acoustics and electricity. He thought one of the most memorable and interesting things is to change and match different classic speakers or amplifiers in listening room and then get different but wonderful listening experience.

At present, we can see a perfect combination in audio room: the full duplicate speakers systems of Western Electric: TA-7396+        TA-4181+ 22A Horn + 555 Midrange drivers + 597 tweeter; CD player of LM + duplicate 129CA of Western Electric + LM-212PA. Yeah! Splendid sound is giving out. While everybody was immersing in this natural, relaxing and mellow music, Dawei asked in a low voice whether people would like to hear voices from original 212. Of course, the answer is yes. With the help of Mr. Zheng, such famous electron tubes as 300B, 310 and 212 etc. have an opportunity to perform themselves in China. Only person who really like tubes knows the charming of them. And also it is the reason why tubes factories at home and abroad are willing to manufacture. Otherwise, later generations will hardly have chances to listen such amazing music from them.
